2022 Toyota Urban Cruiser Discontinued | But Taisor Could Be The New Facelifted SUV – Launch Details

It has now been a few months since, Maruti has launched the updated new Brezza. After brezza, a Toyota version of the same is due for launch. But, it seems to be no indication from Toyota, about the launch of the updated Urban Cruiser. It looks like, Toyota may have discontinued the Urban Cruiser. In fact, Toyota has now removed the Urban Cruiser, from their official Indian website. This leaves only two options to guess. Discontinuation, or facelift is coming soon.

Toyota Urban Cruiser sales were decent, It used to average around, 2000 to 3000 units per month. In October 2022, sales of Urban Cruiser were down to 0 units. The month before that in September 2022, Urban Cruiser sales were at 330 units.

Some reports suggesting that, Toyota might not launch the Urban cruiser again, but it’s not official. To fuel this rumor fire, Toyota used the Urban cruiser branding, to the recently launched Hyryder SUV. Two products, with similar names sold alongside, might not be a good idea. Or the discontinuation could be temporary, like how they have discontinued Innova diesel variants.

Then the only chance left, is re launching this SUV with new name. We all know that, recently Toyota trademarked the name, ‘Taisor’, in India. So there are chances of Taisor name, could be reserved for Toyota’s version of the Brezza SUV. It could come in with an updated design, to look more like other Toyota SUVs. More details are likely to be revealed in the coming days.

But now Toyota is busy working on a huge launch of this year, The Innova hycross. The MPV to debut first in Indonesia, and India debut is set for november 25.
